As there were a few areas I wanted lipo'd, the plastic surgeon injected the dilute solution containing lidocaine, epinephrine and intravenous fluid in more than one area and then puts the screws in to keep the liquid from leaking out before he is ready to work on that area. According to the nurse who works with him, sometimes if he is working on one area she might hold a piece of gauze (if he hasn't put a screw in to keep the hole closed)over the other area to prevent the solution from leaking out.
